We love a queer reality show! Whether it's watching the latest season of RuPaul's Drag Race, diving into The Ultimatum: Queer Love, or watching a bicon like Ariana Madix host Love Island USA.
What we really love is a queer showmance on a reality show! Of course, we love watching a LGBTQ+ dating show, and have plenty of recommendations for you. But there's also something very special about a queer showmance on a show that isn't specifically about queer people.
That's exactly what we got from NBC's Destination X. The reality competition show, where people have to guess where in Europe they are, featured a straight showmance while filming, but once the cameras cut, things took a sapphic turn.
Destination X stars Ally Bross and Mack Fitzgerald tell Out in an exclusive interview that they are now dating and happily in love!
"While we were in Finland, we were staying in this tiny little cabin that had just these two little twin beds. And I don't know if it's in the Finnish air or something, but I just suddenly had such a big crush on Mack," Bross says. "I was feeling like, 'Wait, this is way bigger than what it was before.' Before I knew I really wanted Mack to like me, I really wanted her around all the time. I was sad when she would leave my house. But it was really in Finland where I realized I had feelings for her."
The relationship also serves as a coming out for both stars, as Bross had previously identified as straight and Fitzgerald identified as asexual.
