Hello Out readers, how's your February going?
It's a big weekend, with both the Winter Olympics and the Super Bowl. Which will you be watching?
The Super Bowl will feature a very exciting halftime show by Grammy Award-winning artist Bad Bunny. But conservatives aren't happy, and have scheduled their own halftime show. This Turning Point USA halftime show features "superstars" like Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, and Lee Brice. Not only do they hate immigrants and Latinos, but it seems like they hate good taste as well.
The Olympic Opening Ceremonies are also this Friday, with events kicking off over the weekend. If you root for Team USA, we've got a list of 8 queer athletes representing the U.S. you can root for!
This includes Amber Glenn, who is pansexual and making her Olympic debut as a figure skater. She makes history as the first out queer woman to compete in women's figure skating!
You can also root for gay speed skater Conor McDermott-Mostowy, who crushed the competition in the men's 1000-metre race at the Olympic Trials. McDermott-Mostowoy came out publicly in 2021 after winning two titles at the U.S. National Championships.
Overall, at least 44 out athletes are competing in Italy for the gold!
Which sports are you most excited to watch this weekend?
