Hello Out readers!
Water is wet, the sky is blue, and once again, conservatives are freaking out over nothing. This week, two of the right's biggest targets were Bad Bunny and He-Man. Let's take a look at why.
Ever since Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny was announced as the Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner, conservatives have been flipping out, even threatening to send ICE agents. They even made a petition about it.
However, instead of making the Super Bowl less gay, the NFL has only made it more gay by adding some queer artists to the lineup! Now, lesbian icon Brandi Carlile will be performing "America the Beautiful" during the pregame, and Green Day (with bisexual lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong) will be playing in the opening ceremony.
Speaking of showcases of masculinity, have you seen the new trailer for the Masters of the Universe movie? Nicholas Galitzine stars in the film as Prince Adam, also known as He-Man. While it may seem like a straightforward male fantasy film, some men on the right are actually being triggered by a small joke in the trailer.
While most people know that the first word in "He-Man" is the pronoun "he," conservatives on social media were freaking out over a joke in the trailer that shows Adam in our world using "he/him" pronouns.
The joke is clearly a nod to his name, "He-Man," but still, conservatives were convinced the trailer was pushing the "woke mind virus" by promoting pronoun usage. Yes, this is real.
