If you were paying attention to YouTube drama a decade ago, you probably remember rumors that two popular creators, Troye Sivan and Connor Franta, were dating. Well, now we know the truth!
Earlier in August, Franta was on the podcast Obsessed with Brooke Averick when he talked about how, in 2014, he and his "boyfriend at the time" discovered a new artist named Chappell Roan. Internet sleuths quickly found a post from that year where Franta and Sivan were standing on either side of a teenage Roan, saying, "I've had this 16-year-old girl on repeat for two months."
Now, Franta has spoken out, confirming the relationship.
"What in the 2014 is going on? I'm just as baffled as all of you are right now... Occasionally, I kind of get thrown back into the zeitgeist, and it’s just as confusing for me as it is for you," he says. "People still care, not only about me, but about a relationship I had for two years."
Franta also had a message for Sivan, saying, "The final words I have are actually for him, so if you happen to be watching this, I just want to let you know that I'm proud of you, too. For every single thing that you've done."
