A select group of queens have managed to capitalize on their RuPaul's Drag Race fame and became digital influencers with millions of followers on Instagram.
The drag universe is more mainstream than ever, and a lot of that growth comes from the queens featured on Drag Race. Right now, several drag performers have incredibly large social media followings that sometimes surpass cast members from mainstream reality shows like The Bachelor, Love Is Blind, The Real Housewives, and Love Island, to name a few. While it is true that Drag Race winners tend to get a lot of appreciation from fans, there are just as many popular queens on social media who didn't necessarily have a high placement on the show and still became viral sensations.

Despite also having 1.8 million followers on Instagram, Alaska has a slightly larger following than Velour. Alyssa Edwards may have been a "lovely fifth alternate" in the competition, but she's one of the most popular RuPaul's Drag Race queens of all time. In 2021, she collaborated with KimChi Chic to launch an entire makeup collection. In the meantime, Tiara has been traveling around the globe with the Werq The World tour and also headlined the RuPaul's Drag Race Live residency in Las Vegas.
The queen also has a jaw-dropping 9 million followers on TikTok, which has certainly helped boost her Instagram following. On TikTok, Tiara has become famous for her gender-bending videos where she transforms from a handsome man to a gorgeous woman.
Certain fans questioned Violet Chachki's crowning on Drag Race season seven, but she's gone on to prove that Mama Ru made the right decision. Chachki has reached 2 million followers on Instagram and is the fifth most-followed Drag Race queen on the social network. From attending the Met Gala to launching the No Gorge videocast with Gottmik, Chachki's long career as an entertainer speaks for itself.

From hosting TV shows to podcasting to touring to writing books to releasing original music, Katya's following keeps on growing.
Bianca Del Rio was the most-followed Drag Race alum for many years, but she currently ranks in second place.
