Katya is having a rough year.
In a recently resurfaced post, RuPaul’s Drag Race star Katya Zamolodchikov admitted that she got sober again after struggling with an addiction to methamphetamines.
“I’m sober from meth today,” Katya wrote in what appears to be a Sept. 11 statement from her Patreon, although Out has been unable to independently verify its source. “Since May 1 2026 and baby you can drive that shit right down to fiorucci blvd and smell it. Tina is dead. Meth is dead.”
This since-deleted message to fans came before Katya’s Sept. 14 announcement that she was canceling all engagements and taking a second hiatus from performing this year due to health complications.

“Katya will be taking time away from upcoming projects and live events so she can prioritize her health following recent medical complications. A full recovery is anticipated,” her statement on Instagram read.
In the Patreon post, Katya said she has been sober since May 1, the same month she previously announced she had to have “emergency abdominal surgery” to “remove and reattach” a part of her small and large intestine because of a bowel obstruction.
She has also spoken openly about her struggles with a substance use disorder in the past, but It’s unclear whether the two things are connected.
Fans seemed confused by the rest of her statement which reads, “I love every Jewish person who has the privilege and pleasure of being born with that fucking burden.”
Katya ended the message to fans by teasing her longtime collaborator and podcast co-host Trixie Mattel. “Trixie can’t read this so whoops sorry gal you’re illiterate. Bye girl see ya next Tuesday,” she wrote.
The same TikTok user who posted the Patreon statement also released the audio from a video Katya allegedly posted to the subscription-based platform where she confirms that she has been sober since May 1 and goes on a rant about people who have been questioning her sobriety.
“Because if you ever question my sobriety, look at my eyes bitch,” Katya can be heard saying. “Since May 1, 2026 bitch. Sober as a fucking jay bird, I could do a piss test right now if I wanted to.”
In April 2024, Katya also took a break from her career to focus on her sobriety. While fans may be disappointed about any canceled performances, if Katya is struggling with her recovery, taking time away from the limelight is likely what is best for her.
Before her latest health crisis, Katya and Trixie were set to kick off their Very Bald and Very Beautiful Tour, which was intended to go through March 2027 with nearly 20 live shows across the country.
