“During a divisive time in our country, Starbucks wanted to create a symbol of unity."
Starbucks recently released a new line of green cups and holiday-themed drinks with the start of the upcoming season.
The cups, which debut just a week before the election, are said to promote community and unity in a time where it's most needed.

"During a divisive time in our country, Starbucks wanted to create a symbol of unity as a reminder of our shared values, and the need to be good to each other," said chairman and CEO Howard Schultz, NBC News reports.
The coffee giant has since received backlash online as people are saying it acts as a political statement and is an attempt at "brainwashing" its consumers with the election being so close.
Although Starbucks has yet to confirm if the cups are in-fact this year's official holiday cup, many users online are already claiming it as a bad move.
