Hello Out readers!
If you're looking for something to watch this weekend, why not check out the Netflix show The Hunting Wives or the new movie Plainclothes?
The Hunting Wives is a spicy and sapphic drama that premiered on Netflix this summer, and we are still obsessed with it! The show stars Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman as two women in a conservative Texas community who spark up a relationship.
The show's creator, Rebecca Cutter, spoke with Out about the show.
"I'm so grateful to see such a grateful response from the queer community, a curious and excited response from, what I feel like, is straight women on TikTok. I love that we don't have to define it," Cutter says. "I've been married to an amazing man for a long time. I’ve also had relationships with women in the past. Let's just all be curious."
If you're looking for a movie to watch this weekend, check out Carmen Emmi's Plainclothes!
Plainclothes debuted at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and stars Tom Blyth and Russell Tovey. In the drama, Blyth plays a young police officer tasked with arresting men who try to have sex with him at cruising spots. When he meets a kind, older man played by Tovey, his world changes, and he falls in love.
The role has allowed Tovey to embrace his aging in a new way, he tells Out.
"Yeah, I embrace Daddy," Tovey says. "I mean, Pedro Pascal says, 'Daddy is a state of mind,' but also I think realistically, I'm a dad age, so state of mind and state of play."
Plainclothes comes out in theaters this Friday!
