It’s been a busy week for the stars of Interview with a Vampire, who have found out just how freaky their fans are while on the promotional tour for their upcoming sequel show, The Vampire Lestat.

On an episode of Buzzfeed Celeb, where stars Sam Reid and Jacob Anderson were asked to read the thirstiest fan tweets on the internet, both actors learned what the omegaverse is.

The confusion on the faces of both Reid, who plays Lestat, and Anderson, who stars as his lover Louis, when reading a tweet calling Louis a “hidden omega” and “Lestat is the horny alpha who stalks over him,” is priceless.

Reid is clearly confused by the fan's comment, but Anderson has a vague idea what it's about.

“I know what this means, it’s something to do with werewolves or dogs,” Anderson said.

And he’s not wrong. Omegas and alphas are part of the Omegaverse, a subgenre of erotic fan fiction that focuses on humans being divided into a hierarchy based on the myth that wolves fall into dominant and submissive types, with some versions even featuring humans who form packs and can shape shift.

Since the actors who star as vampires and gay lovers in the series seem a little dumbfounded by the tweet, a BuzzFeed producer stepped in to clear things up.

“Omega is like the bottom and the submissive one and the alpha is the dominant and the top and then the beta is kind of the neutral,” the producer said before dropping the bomb that “omegas can get pregnant regardless of their gender.’

“Oh that’s progressive, I’m into that,” Anderson says.

Reid compares the concept to the work of science fiction and fantasy author Ursula Kroeber Le Guin, before Anderson asks, “Is Louis a hidden omega? Does he hide it?”

Both actors chuckle while trying to wrap their heads around the idea.

“This is all new concepts to me,” Reid said. “Like, I need some time to uhhhh…process.”

The stars of Heated Rivalry had a similar experience on the BuzzFeed show when they had to read tweets about fans wanting Hudson Williams' character Shane to be an omega who is impregnated by his alpha Ilya, played by Connor Storrie.

But the omegaverse isn’t the only thing the two actors learned from their fans during the episode. Reid also had to read a tweet from a fan who wanted to be a “vampiric kebab” sandwiched in between Lestat and Louis, another from a fan who said they would eat Lestat’s “used thong right off him,” and a tweet that prompted Anderson to joke about releasing “the butthole cut” of the show.

But Reid trying and failing to correctly pronounce “bussy” may be the funniest moment of the episode. He first said “buzzy” which caused Anderson to laugh so hard he cried, before a producer stepped in to teach Reid how to say it.

“Oh, I still didn’t get it right?” he asked while Anderson kept laughing.
