Glen Pannell is a gay man in NYC who looks oddly similar to Vice President-elect Mike Pence. But unlike the real Pence, Pannel has been doing good since the election results.
Pannell strolls the streets of NYC in nothing but short shorts and a blazer to raise money for nonprofits like Planned Parenthood, Natural Resources Defense Council, and The Trevor Project.
In a recent interview, Pannell discusses the inspiration behind the costume.
"I did come up with name myself! A friend suggested I dress as Mike Pence for Halloween. But a straightforward Pence costume seemed a little lazy," Pannell tells Howard Sherman. "I was also concerned that people might take it as an endorsement of the Trump-Pence ticket. So I decided to have some fun with it and dress as "Sexy Mike Pence."
Since taking on his new role as Mike Hot-Pence, Pannell says he's received mixed reactions from people on the street, but he promises to heed Michelle Obama's words of wisdom, "When they go low, we go high."
"Some people might not care for it or may think I'm being opportunistic. Yes, I am being opportunistic," Pannell continues. "I'm using this opportunity to raise money for people that will really need it over the next couple of years."
If you live in the NYC area be sure to look out for Mike Hot-Pence roaming Times Square, and consider doanting to a good cause.
