Watch all of Lady Gaga's 'SNL' performances over the years
Live from New York, it's Gaga on SNL!
Editor's note: This article has been updated to include Lady Gaga's performances of "Abracadabra" and "Killah."
Lady Gaga's highly anticipated return to Saturday Night Live tonight marks her fifth appearance on the sketch comedy series as a musical guest, and second time doing "double duty" as a host as well. This exciting SNL comeback takes place just one day after Mother Monster released her seventh studio album, Mayhem, with the world.
Besides her recent stint as one of the various musical guests in the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Special that aired in February, Gaga returns for a full episode as the host and musical guest of the night. As the first televised appearance of Gaga singing Mayhem songs since the album was released, fans are expecting the pop star to cast a spell on Saturday night, live, from New York.
Keep scrolling to watch all of Lady Gaga's musical performances on Saturday Night Live, including her latest SNL stint on March 8, 2025 to promote Mayhem. The full episode is now available on NBC.com and via streaming on Peacock.
'Paparazzi' — October 3, 2009
from LadyGaga
Lady Gaga's first-ever performance on Saturday Night Live took place on October 3, 2009. Though she was on the verge of dropping "Bad Romance" a few weeks later, she had only released 2008's The Fame at the time. Gaga's debut was a performance of her smash hit single "Paparazzi."
This episode was hosted by actor Ryan Reynolds, who had just starred in X-Men Origins: Wolverine — his very first time playing the character of Deadpool in a film — and played Sandra Bullock's love interest in the rom-com The Proposal.
'LoveGame' / 'Bad Romance' / 'Poker Face' — October 3, 2009
from LadyGaga
Gaga, ambitious as ever, turned her second performance on SNL — in the same episode hosted by Reynolds — into a medley of three songs. She sang "LoveGame" and "Poker Face" off of The Fame, and teased fans with a snippet of "Bad Romance."
A month and a half later, Gaga conquered the world of pop music by releasing The Fame Monster and starting her path toward superstardom.
'The Edge of Glory' / 'Judas' — May 21, 2011
In less than two years, Gaga returned to SNL in the lead-up of releasing the revolutionary Born This Way album. Fellow musician Justin Timberlake, who was all-in on his acting career at the time, hosted the episode.
While only the "Judas" number of Saturday Night Live can be found on verified YouTube channels, Gaga briefly sang "The Edge of Glory" that same night — which has been shared and re-shared across social media for many years now.
'Born This Way' — May 21, 2011
The title track of Gaga's third studio album, "Born This Way," was also performed on SNL. While this may seem like a pretty standard pop song for 2025, it's worth noting that the song became an LGBTQ+ anthem and the first pop hit in U.S. radio to include the word "transgender."
'Gypsy' — November 18, 2013
The November 18, 2013 episode of SNL was Gaga's very first time doing "double duty" on the show as the host and musical guest of the episode.
Besides doing a great job hosting the episode and making the point that she could very well become a movie star — which she did — Gaga performed "Gypsy" to promote the recently released ARTPOP album.
'Do What U Want' — November 18, 2013

Mother Monster wasn't in the best headspace during the ARTPOP era, even though many fans are obsessed with the album and critics now recognize that the project was ahead of its time.
With that said, Gaga kindly asked us to ignore this performance of a song featuring an artist that we'd rather never listen to ever again. So… moving right along!
'A-YO' — October 23, 2016
The Joanne era was beloved by some fans and confusing to others, but Gaga did deliver fantastic performances from the album on a new episode of Saturday Night Live in October 2016.
The singer, who was in her yeehaw era, delivered a dazzling performance of "A-YO" alongside producer Mark Ronson.
'Million Reasons' — October 23, 2016
This 2016 episode of SNL with Gaga as a musical guest was hosted by actor Tom Hanks. For her second musical number of the night, Gaga sang one of the biggest ballads of her entire career: "Million Reasons."
A few months later, in February 2017, Gaga headlined the Super Bowl Halftime Show. The pop star then spent the rest of the year promoting the Netflix documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two and shooting her feature film debut A Star Is Born with Bradley Cooper.
'Shallow' — February 15, 2025 (SNL 50 Special)
Gaga was one of the many musical guests invited to perform at Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Special — the milestone event celebrating 50 years of the NBC comedy sketch show.
During her solo number, Gaga sang the Academy Award-winning ballad "Shallow" from the A Star Is Born soundtrack.
'D**k in a Box' (with The Lonely Island) — February 15, 2025 (SNL 50 Special)
Another Mother Monster moment in the SNL 50 special was alongside Andy Samberg of The Lonely Island. The two of them reunited to perform "D**k in a Box," which was originally a duet between Samberg and Justin Timberlake.
'Abracadabra' — March 9, 2025
Lady Gaga kicked off her most recent episode of SNL with the powerful gay anthem known as "Abracadabra."
Fans have been obsessed with this song since its debut on a commercial break during the 2025 Grammy Awards telecast, and the Mayhem pop star brought her full "Abracadabra" experience to the sketch comedy show.
'Killah' — March 9, 2025
This episode marked Gaga's second time as both the host and musical guest ("double duty") of Saturday Night Live. It was also her fifth time appearing as the musical guest of an episode.
Leading up to the release of Mayhem, Gaga released "Die With a Smile," "Disease," and "Abracadabra" as the three first singles off of her seventh studio album. But what would she bring as her second number on the show? Well, let's just say she did a "Killah" job on this one.
