Calvin Klein may have recently lost the two creative forces behind its runway collections, but its sister label, Calvin Klein Jeans, spearheaded by global creative director and Out100 honoree Kevin Corrigan, is still roaring.
Beckoning to the 18-25 generation, it featured "viral" model Lucky Blue Smith in its Black Series ads. Now, Vine celebrity Cameron Dallas has been tapped as the face of the brand's latest spring capsule collection.
At 21, Dallas has amassed close to 12 million followers on Instagram, and through his combined social media presence on Vine (the platform that made him internet-famous) and Twitter, he reaches nearly 30 million sets of eyeballs every day -- a growing fanbase that Calvin Klein is hoping to turn into its own.
So it makes sense that all the California native had to do to land his dream job is send a tweet:
"In 2011, I tweeted that I wanted to model for Calvin Klein, so it's a dream come true to actually be in one of their campaigns," he said. "I've always been a huge fan of the brand, and these pieces fit perfectly with my everyday style."
In the campaign, photographed by Jack Pierson, Dallas is joined by model Stella Lucia. The limited-edition collection, launching online today, consists of a line of white knit sweatshirts, tees, tanks, track pants, and shorts for both men and women.
