Rihanna is always a queen, and now, she's channeling one of the most iconic drag queens of all time on a new magazine cover!
Rihanna is the newest cover star of Perfect Magazine, in an issue dedicated entirely to her (as it should be!).
Photographed by Rafael Pavarotti, Rihanna appears on three different covers for the magazine: two in stunning black and white, and a third in hot pink, black, and white! It's that third cover, though, that has us gagging especially hard, as Rihanna channels a queer legend and icon: Divine.
As pointed out on X (formerly Twitter), Rihanna's latest cover shows her in hair and makeup inspired by Divine, the drag queen and actor who often worked with filmmaker John Waters and starred in films like Multiple Maniacs, Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble, and Hairspray, for which he was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award.
According to the magazine's editor Katie Eleanor Grand, who thanked Rihanna in an Instagram post, it was Rihanna herself who came to them "with this crazy idea" for the shoot.
You can preorder the issue now, and each cover comes with the same content inside. Issue 6.5 will start shipping on June 13.
