Chris Colfer's impact is undeniable!

The trailblazing actor paved the way for crucial LGBTQ+ representation on mainstream television by portraying gay teenager Kurt Hummel on Glee from 2009 to 2015.

With Glee officially moving forward with a highly-anticipated reboot, fans are eagerly waiting for any casting news as they hope to see Colfer involved in some capacity. Although he's hinted that joining a reboot would have been difficult in the past, it seems like the star is happy to join the cast if the stars aligned.

"This was not on my 2026 bingo card! People have recently started reaching out, but I haven't had a chance to speak to anybody. It would depend on the specifics, material, and timing. I know nothing about it still, so I have no answer yet. The fact that some people want me to be part of it is a huge compliment. It also makes me feel so old," Colfer tells Out.

The timing of the Glee reboot also coincidentally comes after Colfer surprisingly reunited with his onscreen lover Darren Criss during Criss' show at London's Royal Albert Hall. The duo recreated an iconic season 2 Christmas duet by performing "Baby, It's Cold Outside" to the passionate fans.

"I was not expecting that reaction! I was not expecting it to go viral. We were planning it for months! It was a complete coincidence. People are going to think this is going to be a trailer! It was actually a very healing moment for me. The petty side of me wants to send a link to all of the people who said I’d never have a reaction like that. I got their names written down, so I might do that after this interview."

Colfer and Criss' Glee relationship served as a queer awakening for many Glee fans over the years. Their respective characters, Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson (known as Klaine), opened crucial doors for gay love on screen. In fact, many Heated Rivalry fans have said that Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander's relationship (known as Hollanov) wouldn't have been properly depicted without Glee.

"God, I love that show and I love how many people it's proving wrong. We've been trying to get a show like that on TV for a very long time. There's been a lot of battles with executives not believing a show about gay men could have a following it does. Now, there's evidence that they were all wrong."

Although Colfer has created vital change for the entertainment industry, the star has lived an exciting life away from the cameras for nearly a decade. His empire has expanded greatly with his successful novels and earned himself multiple New York Times bestsellers.

However, fans are thrilled that Colfer is finally returning to the screen in his new queer horror movie The Restoration at Grayson Manor. He stars as Boyd Grayson, a wealthy brat who experiences a scary accident that ends up creating havoc for everyone around him.

"It is a wild story about a very spoiled young queer man who loses his hands in a tragic accident. His rich mother gives him robotic hands that come to life and mysterious things start happening. I really loved how unapologetically bitchy it was. I loved the complicated relationship he had with his mother. This might be one of the most dysfunctional mother-son relationships to be on film, maybe second to Psycho."

The Restoration at Grayson Manor is available now on demand. Check out the trailer below!
