Dallas Wings stars Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers announced they are no longer dating — and as it turns out, they haven’t been together for over a year.

In a new episode of Fudd’s podcast, Fuddin’ Around, released November 6, the former couple shared that they have broken up.

“Well, before we continue with anything else, Paige and I have something that we want to share with everyone. We are no longer together. I don’t know how else to say that,” Fudd said.

Bueckers, a guest on her ex”s podcast, confirmed that they stopped dating over a year ago, prior to Fudd being drafted by the Dallas Wings. The pair captured the hearts of sapphic basketball fans everywhere when they hard-launched their relationship in August 2025, confirming the dating rumors that had followed them during their time together playing college basketball for University of Connecticut Huskies.

Bueckers became No 1. draft pick of the year in 2025, when she was selected by the Dallas Wings. A year later, in April 2026, the pair faced questions about their relationship after Fudd, who was also No. 1 draft pick of the year, was drafted onto the same team. Some people online even suggested that Fudd had been drafted to the Wings, in part, because she was dating Bueckers.

“We were not together before she got drafted. So all of those narratives can go to bed,” Bueckers added during the podcast, shutting down previous rumors. “She was not drafted because she was my girlfriend. She was drafted because she deserved it. She’s an amazing human, amazing basketball player. And we’re still friends. We’re still cool.”

For anyone that questions whether or not exes can play together on the same team successfully, clearly you don’t know enough queer people. In all seriousness, Bueckers pointed out that the pair played together for an entire WNBA season following their break up and that they remain friends.

“We’re the utmost professionals,” she said. “We care about basketball, and we’re still friends.”

Over one-quarter of players in the WNBA are out as LGBTQ+, according to the most recent tallies. The league includes known couples, including Gabby Williams and Marine Johannes, whose romance was confirmed during 2025’s All-Star Weekend, and has also been host to breakups, like Dijonai Carrington and NaLyssa Smith, who split last year.
