Creator Robbie Richard tells OUT what went into creating the new spooky collection.
"It's double the trouble when the creepiest duo in drag come a knockin," Robbie Richard told OUT.
"At Marek+Richard HQ we've been fans of the Boulets and Dragula since season one, and after our booth caught their attention at Dragcon, it was just a matter of time before we came together to do a spooky collab."
"When we first started the Freaks N' Creeps collaboration it was clear that they wanted to be hands on in the process of concept development. We had like four ideas that we were tossing around including an idea called "Israel's revenge". I mean The Boulets have the ability to turn so many different looks, and flawlessly I might add, but it was their love for the 80's that ultimately pushed us in the right direction. Inspired by neon punks and trashy cartoon idols, like the Misfits from Jem and the Holograms, our Freaks N' Creeps collection is an electric orgy of crazy prints and creepy graphics."
"This shoot is one of the most labor intensive projects we've taken on: We constructed four different sets, including the Boulets we had six models on set, and we were tasked with constructing double the amount of samples for the Boulets' wardrobe. Ultimately the shoot lasted more than 12 hours, including photos and video but the Boulets were troopers and took it in stride. After all, they've had a lot of practice staying in extended drag on the set of Dragula."
"For us, Halloween is a time to let your freak flag fly and indulge your inner monster. We wanna do the same for our customers and give them something that brings out their inner freak not just at Halloween but year round."
All items from the lookbook are available on Marek+Richard's site now! The lookbook will be live on their site come Friday.
