The criminal charges against adult film star Drake Von in relation to domestic battery accusations have all been dropped.
The 23-year-old GayVN Award winner, whose legal name is Dawson Bacon, faced a slew of criminal charges stemming from an incident in Las Vegas on June 2. He was accused of getting in a physical altercation with his girlfriend, during which he allegedly grabbed her by the throat and “slammed her on the ground” and strangled her “by applying pressure to her throat restricting her breathing” until she “could not breathe and she felt like she passed out,” according to a police report obtained by Out.
The incident led to his arrest on charges of misdemeanor battery, first-degree domestic battery, domestic battery by strangulation, and felony coercion constituting domestic violence with threat or use of physical force.
But according to Las Vegas Justice Court records verified by Out, all charges against Von have now been dropped.
To celebrate the news, Von posted a video on October 15 showing him dancing while wearing a suit and lip-syncing the lyrics “I just beat the case.”
The unnamed alleged domestic violence victim told Detective D. Groberski in a taped interview that a verbal argument with Von allegedly turned violent after she threw her Louis Vuitton “promise ring” out of the window of the car. She claimed the disagreement continued after they returned home and when she called a friend to pick her up, Von took her cell phone and refused to return it before ordering her to “get onto her knees and apologize to him.”
This led to the SWAT team being called to Von’s apartment because an empty magazine from a firearm was seen on his coffee table when police entered his residence to arrest him. Von, who has a previous arrest for domestic battery, refused to speak to police and requested his attorney.
When the news broke of his arrest, Von claimed in an exclusive statement sent to Out that the incident “was all a publicity stunt” and that all charges against him would “be dropped and [the] case dismissed.”
All of the charges against Von in relation to the domestic battery allegations have been dismissed, but his DUI on August 5 in Nevada is still pending. Von was also arrested in July in California for possessing a toxic substance.
