It's a new year, Out readers!
One thing we are definitely leaving behind in 2025 is our former fandom for rapper-turned-MAGA-spokesperson Nicki Minaj. Minaj, who praised Trump for speaking about Christians in Nigeria on social media toward the end of 2025, doubled down when called out and decided to go full right-wing in her support for Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
Thank god we have other musical stars like Kim Petras and Cardi B who are calling out Minaj and showing what a real superstar looks like.
Petras, who shaded Minaj about her comments on trans kids, kicked off the New Year with a (safe) bang at The Abbey in West Hollywood, beginning her tenure as a MISTR Ambassador, spreading awareness about safe sex!
Rapper Cardi B has long feuded with Minaj, and this year it got more personal. Now, as Minaj is making guest appearances at far-right conferences, Cardi B was the guest judge at the premiere of RuPaul's Drag Race season 18!
Cardi B, of course, slayed in her appearance, bringing along her glam squad of Tokyo Stylez and Erika La' Pearl, two trans women who have been working with her for years. Now that's how an icon should behave!
