Hello Out readers, welcome to another week of gay news.
This week we've had to deal with the unfortunate news that Durk Dehner, one of the cofounders of the Tom of Finland Foundation, has been removed as a judge from International Mr. Leather due to photographs of him wearing Nazi regalia.
International Mr. Leather is a competition featuring over 2,000 contestants from 27 countries aground the world where men vie for prizes in categories like physical appearance, leather attire, and oral presentation. The contest is set to begin in May in Chicago.
Photographs of Dehner wearing nazi symbols including a swastika pin and a Nazi Eagle on a hat began circulating online recently, leading to an outcry by the leather community.
Pup Diego Onyx, who holds the title of Mr. Bullet Leather 2024, was one of the first to call out Dehner.
"It really shouldn’t take younger trans POC people in the leather community to do the work that an organization as big as IML should be doing itself," Onyx said. "Durk was removed as a judge this morning after the post blew up. Do better everyone. @mrsister2024 and myself are appalled that this was even able to happen. Not even 2 weeks into 2025 and we already have this still happening"
On Tuesday, Edward Cella, CEO of the Tom of Finland Foundation released a statement.
"Tom of Finland Foundation unequivocally condemns all racism and hatred, and all symbols that are used to convey such views," he stated. "As a Foundation, we hold ourselves to the highest standard of inclusivity, equity, and respect for all individuals, and we reject any content or behavior that runs counter to these principles."

Cynthia Erivo we love you! The Wicked star is at the top of our crush list this week, reminding us that we'd watch her in absolutely anything!
While at the red carpet for the National Board of Review, where she and her co-star Ariana Grande were awarded the Spotlight Award, Erivo revealed that one of her dream roles is the superhero Storm in an X-Men movie.
"I know it sounds frivolous," she said. "But I think that we haven't uncovered how grand she is, and all that inner turmoil she has. So I think there's a world in which we could do something like that."
