This year's event took place on the Paramount lot in Los Angeles, in a nod to the evening's stated purpose — honoring the ongoing dialogue between fashion and cinema — and its chosen charity, the Entertainment Community Fund.
To kick off the show — which featured partnerships between acclaimed costume designers and fashion houses — Nicole Kidman and director Baz Luhrmann put on a performance of “Put the Blame on Mame” from the Golden Age classic Gilda. Following behind them were actors, models, designers, and singers paying homage to films like Edward Scissorhands, Marie Antoinette, Annie Hall, Orlando, Black Panther, and Dune.
On the sidelines, some of the biggest names in the entertainment biz looked on from director’s chairs — glowing amid the controlled chaos of the evening, until Luhrmann and the rest returned to take a bow.
As would be expected, the crowd of onlookers and participants was littered with queer stars from across industries, showing off chic garments, intricate costumes, and one-of-a-kind designer ensembles. Below, we highlight some of the standout looks from LGBTQ+ attendees “Vogue World: Hollywood.”
