There was a lot of great gay TV in 2025. But Overcompensating ā Benito Skinnerās inspired-by-life dramedy about a closeted jock beginning college ā definitely made the grade.
Skinner ā a comedian and influencer also known as Benny Drama ā is proud to have assembled a queer cast (also honored in the Out100) for a queer show that debuted at number 1 globally on Prime Video. While creating Overcompensating āopened up a lot of old wounds ā¦ I think I knew that at least one queer person could watch and maybe feel like they were seen for the first time on-screen,ā he shares. Additionally, āI trust myself so much more now and maybe even forgive myself for some of the things I did while I was in the closet.ā
Happily, Overcompensating is green-lit for season 2. Skinner is working on that as well as a feature script with castmate Owen Thiele, which āmight be my favorite thing Iāve ever written!ā @bennydrama7
