Luisa Jacobson, who stars in The Gilded Age and also happens to be Meryl Streep's youngest child, has shared that she feels "so lucky" to have received support and love from the people around her since coming out.
The Human Rights Campaign 2025 Greater New York Dinner recently featured Jacobson being awarded the HRC Visibility Award for her "impactful work in expanding LGBTQ+ representation on and off screen."
At the event, Jacobson told People that she feels "so, so grateful and thankful to the HRC." She added, "I was surprised because I had only recently came out. It's such a brilliant opportunity to speak about visibility and what it means to this community and what it means to me."
The actress also highlighted "so much support" she's received from the community since coming out.
"I am so lucky to work in the industry that I do," Jacobson said. "That I'm in a community of artists who also identify as LGBTQ+. So it's just a warm, lovely welcome that I am blessed to have. I don't take that for granted."
During her speech at the HRC event, Jacobson said that vulnerability is "one of the most powerful tools that we have for connection."
"As an actor, I've learned that the most powerful performances happen when the actor allows themselves to be revelatory—when they drop the mask and stand in the raw truth of who they are," she said. "It's the same in life. The moments where we drop the mask and allow ourselves to be seen, those are the moments when we truly connect with others."
Jacobson came out during Pride month of 2024, posting pictures with her girlfriend, producer Anna Blundell, along with the caption "blessed to be entering the Joyful New Era" along with a rainbow flag emoji.
