She's been a muse, model, stylist and the editor-in-chief of one of the most influential female fashion magazines in the world, Vogue Paris. Carine Roitfeld's career has spanned more than twenty years and she counts the industry's top players -- from top-name designers to the most coveted photographers -- as loyal friends and fans. Since shocking the fashion world late last year by announcing that she would be leaving her post as top dog at Vogue, rumors and speculation as to what her next move would be have been gossip fodder worldwide. She has acknowledged that she enjoyed her decade at the helm of the magazine, but grew tired of the predictability of the corporate world and wished to focus on freelance projects again. Now, five months later, Roitfeld is fully back on-board with the fashion hustle. She has been consulting for Barneys New York and there are rumors that she's also been advising for labels (like her former collaborator Tom Ford) or that she may be launching a new magazine.
But this weekend a tweet from @AmberAtherton (who is unknown to us -- but her profile says that she is a "young business woman") sent out a picture of what appeared to be a knit top with a label reading "Carine Roitfeld" inside. Could it be? Is the Queen or Porno-chic be starting her own label? This is news could make a couple of jaws drop. As of right now, all seems to be nothing more than rumor stemming from a blurry Twitter picture, but it could also be the beginning of a whole new chapter for the anti-Anna.
