2023 hasn’t been the easiest year on couples when it comes to breakups and divorces. From Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef to Britney Spears and Sam Asghari to Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez, this year has been filled with bad news about celebrities breaking up all over the place.
Thankfully, though, 2023 has also been a great year for other LGBTQ+ stars getting engaged, tying the knot, and even starting new relationships. Despite the general impression that this year has been terrible for famous couples, there are plenty of celebrity pairs who are just scratching the surface of their honeymoon phase.

Brian J. Smith (Sense8, The Matrix Resurrections) and Matt Consalvo (Blue Bloods) announced in a series of Instagram stories that they’re dating. The posts came from Smith, who was undergoing surgery and thanked Consalvo for being by his side – referring to him as “the love of my life.” We stan!

Sources have alleged that actress Sophia Bush and soccer player Ashlyn Harris are reportedly dating after their respective divorces. While this is still a potentially new chapter for both of them, it seems like they are ready to move on from their former partners.
Fresh off his appearances on Glamorous, Zane Phillips started dating fellow actor Froy Gutierrez this year. Gutierrez, who’s best known for starring on Cruel Summer and Hocus Pocus 2, had his relationship with Phillips hard-launched when they appeared together in a series of Instagram pictures kissing each other.
After suggesting that she was in a “queer relationship” during different interviews, Reneé Rapp and Alissa Carrington went public with a series of TikTok videos and an Instagram picture showing off the rings on their hands. Rapp has had a huge year with the release of her debut album Snow Angel, whereas Carrington has surpassed 420,000 followers on TikTok.
The rumors about Lukas Gage and Chris Appleton dating started as early as February 2023. In subsequent months, Gage and Appleton got engaged, tied the knot in Las Vegas alongside Kim Kardashian, and became a high-profile LGBTQ+ couple in Hollywood. The relationship between these two definitely moved quickly, but they still seem to be as happy as ever!
Lily Rose-Depp made huge waves this year with her performance on The Idol. When it comes to her personal life, the actress announced that she’s dating rapper 070 Shake in a series of pictures shared via Instagram stories. “4 months [with] my crush,” she wrote in May 2023.
We still don’t know who Keiynan Lonsdale is actually dating, but the actor and singer did soft-launch his new relationship via a cryptic Instagram post. In the video, Lonsdale’s new beau can be seen but not exactly identified… so we’re still waiting to learn more about this cute pair!
Another soft-launch that took place in 2023 came from Eva Reign, who shared pictures of her new partner on Instagram. We also still don’t really know the identity of Reign’s new boo, but we’re happy for her anyway!
Carl Nassib went public with his boyfriend, Søren Dahl, in January 2023, after months of speculation that the NFL star was dating someone. Dahl is best known as an Olympic swimmer, and he’s been inseparable from Nassib ever since they became Instagram official.
The Bachelorette star Gabby Windey surprised Bachelor Nation this year with the announcement that she was in a queer relationship. In August 2023, Windey announced that she was officially dating comedian and writer Robby Hoffman.
The TikToker hard-lauched his relationship with Patrick Johnson after the two made their red-carpet debut at Heidi Klum's annual Halloween party. Olsen dressed up as Ken from the blockbuster film Barbie, while Johnson dressed up as Ken's "buddy" Allan.
