Sophia Bush and Ashlyn Harris officially attended their first major industry event as a couple over the weekend, stepping out at the Elton John AIDS Foundationās annual Oscars viewing party.
The two were first romantically linked last October, two months after Bush filed for divorce from Grant Hughes and just a week after it was confirmed that Harris and fellow soccer star Ali Krieger had started divorce proceedings that September.
āAfter being friends for years, and running in the same social circles, Sophia and Ashlyn went out on their first dinner date a couple of weeks ago,ā a source told People at the time. āThis is so recent, and they are both beginning new chapters.ā
According to Page Six, Bush and Harris kept their distance on the red carpet this weekend, but they posed for a pic with Eric McCormack, and another with Bobby Berk once inside.
Earlier this year, Krieger, with whom Harris shares two children, revealed that she first learned of the divorce filing during training.
āI was on the field. And I came off the field, in the locker room, and I was obviously devastated,ā she told SELF, adding that her entire team showed up at her house that same night so that she wouldnāt have to be alone. āThey didnāt even think twice. They didnāt have to ask; they just showed up⦠My kids were there, we were all there. And thatās something that I will never forget.ā
The timing of everything previously sparked rumors that Harris had cheated on Krieger with Bush, which Harris denied via an Instagram post in November. Other than that, both she and the One Tree Hill alum have avoided explicitly talking about their burgeoning relationship, although they have been spotted out and about together during over the past few months.
āThis past year humbled me, broke me, built me, betrayed me, freed me, and showed me what it means to really be alive,ā Bush wrote at the start of the year. āThis year taught me to listen to myself and no one elseā¦To not care about optics and instead invest in honesty. The truest and deepest and purest kind.ā
