When it comes to pronouns, folks aren't limited to just one set!
As more and more people are able to express their gender how they want, and as we learn more about gender identity and sex, the language we use to describe people is also growing. Many people now identify as nonbinary (or other types of queer or trans) and use multiple sets of pronouns.
Stars, they're just like us -- and there are plenty of them who use multiple pronouns too! In fact, here are 15 of our favorite celebrities who do!
Elliot Page, He/They
Juno and The Umbrella Academy star Elliot Page came out as nonbinary and trans in December of 2020 and updated his pronouns to he/they. He has said he prefers "he."
Sara Ramirez, They/She
Tony-winning actor Sara Ramirez has starred in shows like Grey's Anatomy and as nonbinary heartthrob Kat Sandoval in Madam Secretary.
Halsey, She/They
Singer and new mother Halsey is bisexual and says that both she and they pronouns feel most authentic.
Rebecca Sugar, They/She
The nonbinary creator of Steven Universe has talked a lot about being a nonbinary woman and goes by both she/her and they/them.
Kehlani, She/They
Singer Kehlani came out as a lesbian in 2021, and has stated they are "definitely on the non-binary scale."
Gerard Way, He/They
The lead singer of the band My Chemical Romance and the creator of The Umbrella Academy comic said on Twitter that they use both he and they pronouns in 2015.
Emma Corrin, She/They
The Crown star Emma Corrin, who won a Golden Globe for the role of Princess Diana in the beloved Netflix series, recently has come out and said she uses she and they pronouns.
Ben Levi Ross, They/He
Ben Levi Ross is a nonbinary actor best known for his work in Dear Evan Hansen. They are also dating their former costar in that show, Taylor Trensch.
Mae Martin, They/She
The Feel Good creator came out as bisexual and nonbinary in 2021 saying that "I love it when people say 'they,' but I don't mind 'she' at ALL."
Amandla Stenberg, They/She
Amandla Stenberg first became famous when they played Rue in The Hunger Games, and next she's costarring in the Dear Evan Hansen film. They identify as nonbinary and gay.
Arrows, He/They
Arrows is a model, actor, and vlogger who identifies as queer and transgender nonbinary.
Melissa King, She/They
Chef Melissa King has appeared on Top Chef twice, winning the 17th season. They are genderfluid and gay.
ND Stevenson, Any Pronouns
The creator of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power identifies as nonbinary and uses all pronouns.
Ian Alexander, They/He
Ian Alexander appeared on Netflix's The OA and then later played the first canon transgender character in Star Trek history on Star Trek: Discovery.
Jesse James Keitel, She/They
Keitel became the first nonbinary actor to play a regular nonbinary role on network TV when she was cast in Big Sky. Next, they're set to star in the upcoming Queer As Folk reboot.
