As the first transgender model to appear in the pages of American Vogue, Andreja Pejic knows a thing or two about going through a gender transition with an audience watching. This week, the former Out cover star appeared on Good Morning America and CNN to show her support for Caitlyn Jenner.
Pejic talks about her own transition at 14, and reveals that she underwent a gender confirmation surgery early in 2014.
"It's definitely not an easy situation for someone to find themselves in," she said on CNN. I definitely know what it's like to transition publicly. You have to worry about not just your family's acceptance, but the public reaction. I would just say, keep your head grounded as much as possible, keep great people around you and try and stay sane."
