Caitlyn Jenner Offers to Host Globes Next Year In Response to Ricky Gervais's Trans Jokes

'We’ll solve that problem.'

Caitlyn Jenner is nothing if not a good sport. Since coming out as trans last year, the 66-year-old former Olympian and Kardashian upkeeper has been a lightning rod for controversy, criticism and comedy, but she's handling it all in stride. Though Ricky Gervais's jokes about her at Sunday's Golden Globes left her unbothered, she did have a solution to ensure it doesn't happen again.

"I'm going to call the Golden Globes and see if they need a host for next year," Jenner joked, speaking at the Television Critics Association on Thursday. "We'll solve that problem."

Well, Cait can't be any worse than Gervais, just get Khloe to write most of the material.

"Yes, there's criticism out there," Jenner continued. "I'm not a spokesperson for [the trans] community--I am not. The media puts me in that position. I am only a spokesperson for me and my story. I have so much to learn about trans issues and womanhood."

Jenner has recently been criticized for her statements on women and marriage equality, as well as her support of the Republican party. She did admit, however, that "Democrats have been better" on LGBT issues, but that it was "good" the Republicans had an ally.

Though she demurred talking politics at the TCA, the second season of I Am Cait--her reality show on E! documenting her post-transition experience--will explore Caitlyn's political views, as well as those of her trans friends.

"The platform is not for me--it is for this community, to be able to tell our story," she said of the show. "If my celebrity helps in doing that and making it better for the next community of trans people coming in, baby I'm all in. I see nothing but love."

I Am Cait will return to E! on March 6.
