Brian Glenn, a reporter from Trump-supporting news outlet Real America's Voice, was at a White House meeting between President Trump and Irish PM Micháel Martin when he asked a question about Rosie O'Donnell that left the Prime Minister speechless.
"Ireland is known for very happy, fun loving people. Great attitude from many in this room that I've met," Brian Glenn, chief White House correspondent for the Trump-supporting news site Real America's Voice. "Why in the world would you let Rosie O'Donnell move to Ireland? I think she is going to lower your happiness level."
As Trump said "thank you, I like that question," Prime Minister Martin seemed confused, laughing off the question, and looking uncomfortable.
"Do you know who she is?" Trump asked as Glenn could be heard in the background saying he was "joking."
"You're better off not knowing," Trump added.
The question comes at about the 33-minute mark of the interview.@rosiehello all - here’s whats been going on folks - sending love ❤️- follow me on substack - link in my bio #bewell #speakkindlytoyourself #dourbest
Earlier this week, O'Donnell revealed on TikTok that she moved to Ireland following Trump's presidential reelection.
O'Donnell, who had Irish grandparents and is working on getting her citizenship in that country, said she misses her friends and family who still live in the U.S., but needs to stay overseas for the safety of her 12-year-old child Clay, who is nonbinary.
"When you know it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back," she said. "It has been heartbreaking to see what is happening over there politically and hard for me personally as well. The personal is political, as we all know."
In the video, O'Donnell asked for Americans to stand up to Trump, "demand that we follow the constitution in our country," and remind him that he is not king and "we don't have cruelty as a part of our governing style."
Trump and O'Donnell have a longstanding feud, with the comedian and actress often calling out Trump's hateful policies and behavior, and Trump insulting O'Donnell's looks and womanhood.
Their feud has been going on since at least 2006, when O'Donnell called Trump a "snake-oil salesman" and he replied by calling her "a real loser" and said "I look forward to taking lots of money from my nice fat little Rosie."
In 2011, when O'Donnell announced her engagement to then-girlfriend Michelle Rounds, Trump tweeted out "I feel sorry for Rosie 's new partner in love whose parents are devastated at the thought of their daughter being with @rosie–a true loser."
When Trump was running for president for the first time in 2015, he was asked during a debate about his misogynistic insults about women.
"You've called women you don't like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals..." debate host Megyn Kelly asked as Trump interrupted her saying, "Only Rosie O'Donnell."
"I said very tough things to her and I think everybody would agree that she deserves it and nobody feels sorry for her," he said at another debate in 2016.
