Searchlight Pictures; A24; MGM Pictures
In honor of Pride Month, movie review website Rotten Tomatoes has updated its list of the top 200 LGBTQ+ movies, and a ton of our recent faves have made the cut!
According to Rotten Tomatoes, "movies considered for the list prominently feature gay, lesbian, trans, or queer characters; concern itself centrally with LGBTQ+ themes; present its LGBTQ+ characters in a fair and realistic light; and/or be seen as a touchpoint in the evolution of queer cinema," and "every movie here is Fresh from at least 20 reviews."
Some of our recent favorites, including Nimona (92% fresh), Challengers (89% fresh) and Monica (84% fresh) were left off the list, leaving us scratching our heads at movies like First Girl I Loved (#159 on the list), Crush (#182), Strange World (#188), and Ammonite (#197) made the list instead.
Here are all the newer, more recent movies from the last two years that are included in Rotten Tomatoes' top 200 best LGBTQ+ movies of all time list and where they rank.
