Tig Notaro Is Hot in ‘Army of the Dead,’ Has New 2021 Stand-Up

I want her to rescue me from a zombie horde!

When we needed her most, Tig Notaro is back reminding us all how hot butches can be in a brand-new preview image from Zach Snyder's upcoming action movie Army of the Dead.

Entertainment Weekly debuted the first look at Notaro in the zombie heist movie as sexy helicopter pilot Marianne Peters, where she looks every bit like the action star I've always dreamed of seeing on the big screen. She's tough, she's in charge, and she knows what she's doing. I want her to rescue me from a zombie horde.

Notaro joined the film after it had already wrapped production when the actor who originally filmed the role, Chris D'Elia, was accused of sexual misconduct by several women. Snyder decided to digitally replace the actor and Notaro was his first choice. The character's name and some of her dialogue was changed, but the role remained largely the same.

"My agent called and told me that they wanted me for the film and I said, 'Oh, okay, cool, so they're looking at a few people,' and she said, 'No, they want you,'" Notaro told EW. "And I said, 'Oh, that's really interesting,' because it's not my typical role. I've done Star Trek: Discovery, but I've certainly never been in an action film."

Action stardom isn't all Tig has up her sleeves this year. She also said that she has a new comedy special on the way this year.

"I did sell a new stand-up special, no exaggeration, on the day that Hollywood shut down [for the pandemic]," she said. "We sold this and went home and were never allowed out of our houses again. It's a stand-up special like no other that I've done. There's a lot of creativity to it, it's not a typical straight-ahead stand-up show. I believe it's supposed to be out in [2021]."

2021 is going to be the year of Tig and we couldn't be happier. You can currently watch her 2018 stand up special Happy to Be Here and the documentary Tig about her battle with cancer on Netflix.
