In the past, celebrities have fought off paparazzi armies desperate to get the first shot of their newborn children by selling them to a tabloid, thus controlling the first public images of their children, and raking in some cash in return (though, admittedly, many couples donate the money to charity). Beyonce and Jay-Z are notorious for keeping their private lives just that--private--so it's an interesting matter that they've eschewed that traditional course and instead simply posted the first pictures to Tumblr, giving the world free access to firstborn daughter Blue Ivy Carter. There are plenty of pictures on the page, and, wouldn't you know it, Blue Ivy is cute as a button. But we've come to expect nothing less than perfection from the pop diva.
