It looks like Alan Cumming will be doing a little time hopping in the upcoming season of Doctor Who. During an episode of the Homo Sapiens podcast, Cumming revealed that he'll be in the show opposite Jodie Whittaker, the first female incarnation of the space-bending Doctor.

"I'm about to do an episode of Doctor Who. I'm so excited," Cumming told the show's hosts. When asked if he was playing a baddie, Cumming clarified and teased a bit. "Like a nice baddie," he said. "I'm James I, so I'm kind of like a dandy, foppy sort of coward who comes all right at the end. They said he might come back."
In a tweet from last year, Cumming laid to rest rumors that he had been offered roles on the favorite BBC sci-fi series multiple times.
The new season of Doctor Who premieres this fall on the BBC.
