Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef are officially getting divorced.
TMZ has obtained court documents showing that the Grammy-winning popstar and the painter/visual artist have entered into an uncontested written agreement about their divorce. Now, all that needs to happen is for a judge signing off on the agreement for it to become finalized.
The couple announced that they were splitting up after six years of marriage last month. They will co-parent their children together.
When they announced the split, they released a joint statement.
“For some time, we have considered transforming our relationship, and it is after careful consideration that we have decided to end our marriage with love, respect, and dignity for our children - preserving and honoring what we have experienced as a couple all of these wonderful years,” the statement, both in Spanish and English, read.
“Our greatest desire now is to continue having a healthy family dynamic and a relationship centered on our genuine friendship as we continue the joint upbringing of our children,” the statement continued. “As always, we thank you for all the love and support we received throughout our marriage. We are united in nurturing this new chapter of our lives.”
Martin and Yosef are one of many high-profile couples to break up this year, including Billy Porter & Adam Smith, Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez, Britney Spears and Sam Asghari, and Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello.- LGBTQ+ Couples Who Broke Up in 2023 (So Far) ›
