Billy Porter & Adam Smith Are Separating After 6 Years of Marriage
The award-winning actor released a statement about their split via his representative.
Billy Porter and his husband Adam Smith are separating after six years of marriage.
The award-winning Pose and Cinderella actor, who is currently starring in the upcoming gay divorce drama film Our Son, released a statement via his representative Simon Halls on Wednesday, July 5 toPeople Magazine about their split, saying that the decision was friendly and came from both parties.
"I can confirm that Billy Porter and his husband Adam Smith have made the sad decision to end their marriage after six years," Halls told the publication. "The decision was an amicable and mutual one and was made after much consideration. They continue to love and support each other as they embark on this next chapter."
Halls continued:
"There will be no further comment from either parties and it would be appreciated if their privacy be respected."
After meeting in 2009 and dating for many years, Porter and Smith got engaged in December of 2016 and got married just two weeks later in January of 2017.
