On Monday, the University of Cambridge honored one of its alumni with an honorary doctorate.
Sir Ian McKellen was given another title when he became the recipient of Doctor of Letters. The school celebrated by raising a pride flag over St. Catherine's, the actor's college where he studied English literature.
This is the 75-year-old actor's second doctorate. His first was awarded one by the University of Ulster in Ireland.
