Washington, D.C. is hosting one of the worldās largest LGBTQ+ celebrations as WorldPride 2025 marks 50 years of Pride in the nationās capital. More than three million visitors are expected to take part, with programming designed to inspire, unite, and uplift the global LGBTQ+ communityāwhile contributing an estimated $787 million in local economic impact.

āThe Fabric of Freedomā Unites a City and a Movement
The 2025 theme, The Fabric of Freedom, honors both collective strength and individual storiesāthreaded together through resistance, joy, and progress. Itās a call to action that feels especially urgent in todayās climate.
āUnity at this time is more important than ever,ā said Ryan Bos, Executive Director of the Capital Pride Alliance. āOur community stands ready to continue the fight for equality, knowing that progress is driven by each of us, every day.ā

Star Power Takes the Stage
The weekend of June 7ā8 will bring a major entertainment lineup to Pennsylvania Avenue. On June 7, Grammy, Emmy, and Tony winner Cynthia Erivo will headline the free WorldPride Concert. The celebration continues on June 8 with breakout star Doechii, alongside the Closing Ceremony and International March and Rally for Freedom. Expect multicultural performances, community celebrations, and a crowd filled with global energy.
Cynthia is on June 7th and Doechii is on June 8. June 8 is also a part of the Closing Ceremony and Concert.

Leading the Way: Pride Parade & Human Rights Conference
WorldPride's Human Rights Conference, running June 4ā6, will feature thought leaders and activists including Raven-SymonĆ©, Dr. Lady Phyll, T.S. Madison, Courtney Act, and leaders from GLAAD, the Human Rights Campaign, and the LGBTQ+ Victory Fund. Topics will include global legislative battles, transgender rights, intersectionality, and grassroots advocacy.
On June 7, Parade Grand Marshals Laverne Cox and ReneƩ Rapp will lead one of the most anticipated Pride Parades of the year.

Sports, History & Community
From nearly 25 competitions in the Capital Cup Sports Festival to cultural programming with local Pride partnersāincluding DC Black Pride, Trans Pride, AAPI Pride, Silver Pride, and Youth PrideāWorldPride DC is showcasing the full spectrum of queer excellence.
Rooted in a city with one of the richest LGBTQ+ histories in the U.S., this moment is about more than celebrationāitās a reflection of decades of activism and a commitment to the future of queer liberation.
