Clavicular’s rise to dubious internet fame should be studied. The controversial influencer has more than 400,000 followers on live-streaming platform Kick, has walked the runway at Paris Fashion Week, and has been profiled by respected publications like the New York Times and GQ.
And yet, the misogynistic leader of the image-obsessed “looksmaxxing” movement keeps embarrassing himself over and over again on a global stage.
Clavicular, whose real name is Braden Peters, is the looksmaxxing subculture’s most famous subject, using his own body to prove that working out, plastic surgery, black market drugs, and “bone smashing” to give yourself a masculine jawline will make you conventionally attractive.
Since his rise to fame, he has been arrested multiple times, accused of sexual assault, and allegedly overdosed in public while on camera.
But more embarrassing than his legal troubles are the times he’s been called out in public, rejected in the middle of a livestream, or gone viral for being “mogged” — defined as the other person being better looking than you — by handsome men.
7. Roasted for his dance moves
Clavicular spends a lot of time at clubs — although he never looks like he’s having a good time — but all of his experience on the dance floor amounted to nothing when a video of him awkwardly dancing with women went viral, and the internet galvanized around making fun of him.
6. Mogged by frat leader
When Clavicular stood next to a jacked Arizona State University frat leader, he ended up being embarrassed on his own livestream. Clavicular looked visibly uncomfortable sharing the screen with someone so much more muscular than he was, which is especially humiliating since his stated goal is to become a perfect male specimen.
5. Called out by a gay influencer
Adult film star and popular influencer Judah thee Glutelord went viral for calling out Clavicular and the looksmaxxing community for being similar to gay men who are obsessed with the way they look, spend hours every day in the gym, and take drugs at circuit parties, while predicting that lookmaxxers’ misogyny would ultimately lead to violence. The video spread quickly, making Clavicular’s whole subculture look bad.
4. Embarrassed by hot '60 Minutes' host
Clavicular was caught off guard when a journalist on 60 Minutes Australia didn’t lob him softball questions and instead drilled down on his connection to the incel community that coined the term “looksmaxxing.” When host Adam Hegarty wouldn’t let it drop, Clavicular got incensed and walked out of the interview, only to have the clip go viral because he acted like a baby in front of a journalist who is better looking than him.
3. Dismissed by hot gay beachgoers
While “cold approaching” people on a Miami beach with fellow looksmaxxer Hexumlite, they were brutally dismissed by a group of hot gay men they tried to chat up, who told them they were on the “wrong beach” to be trying to talk about attracting women.
2. Schooled by trans women
Clavicular was “mogged” by a group of beautiful transgender women, who approached him and explained that while he may be the face of “looksmaxxing,” trans women invented it.
One of the women told Clavicular that "trans women are the OG looksmaxxers" and that he and other people in the subculture are just "copying them," before a second trans woman chimed in, “We originated the program.”
1. Mogged by a hunky judge
The only thing more embarrassing than being arrested for shooting a dead alligator in the Florida Everglades is having the world proclaim that the judge in your case made you look like a clown by being more attractive and manly than you.
