Beard lovers, celebrate!

HBO's live-action adaptation of the beloved, queer-inclusive video game The Last of Us is looking better and better!

The network released a brand-new set of character posters, including, of course, Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. But the one we're most interested in features one of our favorite gay actors playing a gay character.

In addition to its two stars, The Last of Us features a large ensemble cast, including Anna Torv, Merle Dandridge, Murray Bartlett, Nick Offerman, Storm Reid, Gabriel Luna, and Nico Parker.

Emmy-winning The White Lotus and Looking star Bartlett is playing the character Frank, the partner of Nick Offerman's gruff gay survivalist Bill. When we meet Bill in the game, he's the last survivor in a town named Lincoln that has become overrun with zombies. He's set up boobie traps around town and helps Joel and Ellie.

Unfortunately in the game, Frank isn't seen much as he's already been bit by a zombie when we meet Bill. But it seems like in the show we'll get to see at least a little bit more of him. In his character poster, he's one of the few characters not carrying a gun.

Their posts also show that Bill and Frank are a beard lover's dream, with both of them (and many other male characters) sporting luxurious facial hair. Offerman's Bill also has chin-length hair, a shotgun, and a band of shells around his chest.

Another character poster introduces Euphoria alum Storm Reid as Riley. In The Last of Us downloadable content (DLC) Left Behind, Riley is Ellie's best friend, and possibly more. In the DLC, the two explore their relationship, what it means, and even share a first kiss.

In the first trailer for the show, we got to see glimpses of the characters Bill and Riley, but now we're getting our first really good looks at them, as well as Bartlett's Frank.

The Last of Us will debut on HBO on January 15, 2023.
