Hulu Renews 'Handmaid's Tale' For Third Season


The audience has more than doubled in the show's second season.

Fresh off the beginning of its second season, Hulu has renewed the acclaimed drama The Handmaid's Tale for a third, Deadlinereports.

The series, based off of Margaret Atwood's dystopian novel, is a certified awards-season darling, having picked up 8 awards at this past ceremony including for Best Drama, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Writing. The second season expands the scope of the corrupt nation of Gilead to see more of the world set up in season one.

Hulu's audience for season two has already more than doubled that of its first. The streaming service has also inked a deal with DreamWorks animation, in addition to ordering several new original series including Four Weddings and a Funeral,Ramy,Castle Rock, Catch-22, and Little Fires Everywhere.
