Though a popular genre of gay porn is parody films and impersonation, NakedSword is taking on a much more serious topic. Tomorrow, NakedSword Originals will release the first installment of A Murdered Heart, a new gay porn film that "tackles the controversially and horrific practice of conversion therapy.

Directed by Marc MacNamara, the Grabby Award-winning director, the project tells the tale of three men who are sent to a conversion therapy camp for "reparative" therapy. This practice, which has been widely debunked and criticized, still goes on today in hopes to change the sexuality or gender identity of those engaged in it. Over the past few years, some states have begun to ban the use of conversion therapy on minors.

"Over 700,000 LGBTQ lives have been affected by the terrors of conversion therapy," MacNamara said in a release. "I have been fortunate enough to be given this platform and it's about time we stand up and say something. Some people might argue porn isn't the place to have an opinion but when the subject matter is sexuality and the shame and stigma being forced upon our peers - then it's not a battle we should sit out."

In the film, the youth who are confined to the so-called therapy become a part of a rebellion according to the release. The footage will see them "navigate the tortures of being condemned, and fight for their sexual freedom."

The movie's cast includes Angel Rivera, Alexander Savage, Cade Maddox, Colton Reece, and Ty Mitchell. It also features Johnny Hazzard and Jessy Ayers, who both make their return with this film.

While it is certainly important to see more industries and people with platform drawing attention to and discussing conversion therapy, it will be interesting to see how NakedSword engages in that conversation within a format that is meant to arouse. In the trailer, in what seems to be a scene from the camp, Mitchell's character seems to be recounting a sexual experience he had with a man, that he wrote a diary entry of to a group of people. One of the therapists then becomes physically violent with him.

Later the youth are depicted having sex with one another as well as the therapists. It is unclear whether or not NakedSword worked with others like Born Perfect, Trevor Project or the American Psychiatric Association -- which they site in their release --to navigate the sensitivities around discussing the issue in this forum.

Out has reached out to NakedSword for comment.

The first part of the four-part series A Murdered Heart will be released Wednesday, February 12 on NakedSword.com. Subsequent installments will be released on a weekly basis.
