At a recent photo call for Jennifer Lawrence's upcoming spy drama Red Sparrow -- which looks to be mostly about Lawrence wearing a series of extremely crispy wigs -- the actress looked ravishing in a low-cut Versace dress. But the media coverage centered around Lawrence's seemingly inappropriate wardrobe choice -- the dress, some alleged, was a ridiculous choice for an outdoor photocall in London in the middle of winter.
But Lawrence, who has never been one to take take criticism without a fight when she feels its unwarranted, hit back on social media. "Wow. I don't really know where to get started on this 'Jennifer Lawrence wearing a revealing dress in the cold' controversy," the actress wrote on Facebook. "This is not only utterly ridiculous, I am extremely offended. That Versace dress was fabulous, you think I'm going to cover that gorgeous dress up with a coat and a scarf?"
"This is sexist, this is ridiculous, this is not feminism," she continued. "Overreacting about everything someone says or does, creating controversy over silly innocuous things such as what I choose to wear or not wear, is not moving us forward."
