The thing about a good Lifetime movie is that it needs to land in that special sweet-spot of terrible, where it's neither too awful to watch, nor too good to just be mediocre. Most of these good-bad films are happy accidents -- it's incredibly difficult to make one purposefully. But perhaps Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig can.
Their upcoming Lifetime movie, A Deadly Adoption (tagline: "The birth of a plan gone wrong") is set to come out later this month. The pair star in a faux-dramatic thriller as a successful couple who take in a pregnant woman so as to adopt her child. As you can imagine, things quickly go awry.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie is described as "a campy, fun, contemporary wink at the genre." I'm not sure how this going to pan out, but I'm hoping for some The Room level brilliant awfulness. What do you think?
A Deadly Adoption will premiere on Lifetime on June 20.
