Congratulations are in order, Out readers!
It's a happy Friday as pop singer, writer, and director Hayley Kiyoko is now engaged to her fiancée, Becca Tilley!
Kiyoko announced the good news on Instagram yesterday, sharing a post with pictures of her getting down on one knee and proposing in front of a beautiful body of water. "My dream girl said yes to forever…" the caption reads.
Kiyoko, a lesbian pop singer known as "Lesbian Jesus" by her fans, and Tilley, a podcaster and former reality TV star who appeared on The Bachelor before coming out, first met in 2018. Tilley went to the release party for Kiyoko's album Expectations, and the two started dating shortly after.
They soft-launched their relationship in the music video for Kiyoko's song "For the Girls" in 2022. The music video features Kiyoko as a lesbian Bachelorette, with other women joining her in the house and fighting for her hand. At the end of the video, a surprise guest shows up at the house: Tilley.
The couple then confirmed their relationship on social media and have been celebrating each other ever since.
"5 years ago, on this fateful day in April of 2018, I got invited to a birthday/album release party for @hayleykiyoko,” Tilley said on Instagram in 2023. “I hesitated to say yes because I was tired from the night before but @brittneylaurenn convinced me to rally and so we hopped in our minivan Uber (a good luck sign for us) and went to the party…. & the rest is 5 years worth of history. Hayley- there have been very few moments in the course of these 5 years that you haven’t been on my mind. I love you!"
Now, after seven years, the couple is happily engaged!

The Gayest Song of the Week is "Golden" by Huntrix! The song is one of the centerpieces of the animated Netflix movie KPop Demon Hunters. While the film doesn't have any explicitly queer characters, the message of the movie will definitely resonate with queer viewers! Find out why here!
