Congratulations to YouTuber Charlie McDonnell!
Popular British YouTuber and Twitch streamer Charlie McDonnell just came out as trans, updating her pronouns to she/they and unveiling a new pic of her beautiful face.
McDonnell had previously scrubbed her YouTube, and hadn't posted on Instagram in two years before updating her gender in an Instagram story and in a post.
She posted a picture with cute glasses, a new, pretty haircut, and a bright smile, along with the caption "Gender reveal! Still going by Charlie but the new pronouns are she/they!"
McDonnell was one of the first major YouTube stars in the UK and was in fact the first UK YouTuber to reach a million subscribers. Even without having any videos on their YouTube, they still have 2.12 million subscribers at the time of writing.
McDonnell's coming out has been met with widespread love, especially from fellow British members of the LGBTQ+ community. Charity organization Stonewall UK commented "Huge congratulations Charlie!" with heart emojis on the post. Famous British writer and showrunner Russell T Davies also joined in, saying, "Hello Charlie! Much love."
One fan even commented that years ago, McDonnell helped them transition. "I am so happy for you Charlie," he wrote. "I'm a trans man and I named myself Charlie after you so many years ago - it makes my heart very very warm to see this <3 You are magnificent."
Does this mean that McDonnell will start posting more content on Instagram and YouTube again? Hopefully!
