Joe Biden Marries Gay Couple, Officially Best VP Ever

While we're all gonna miss Barack and Michelle once they leave the White House, abandoning us to the wilderness of an unknown fate, we'll also be losing America's favorite crazy uncle, Joe Biden.

Not only has he been one of the most fun, outspoken, and generally loveable VPs in modern memory, but he's also partly responsible for President Obama's shift on marriage equality.

When he came out in support of same-sex marriage, Biden reportedly "forced Obama's hand" and the President, who at the time was running for re-election, announced his evolution on the issue days following Biden's announcement.

So it's no surprise that Uncle Joe would be down to serve ministerial realness for a happy gay couple. Biden married White House staffers Brian Mosteller and Joe Mahshie Monday at 4pm at a small ceremony attended by their family members at the vice presidential residence.

The Veep tweeted out a photo later that day:

It was the VP's first time performing a wedding, but he obtained a temporary certification after Mosteller and Mahshie asked him to officiate.

BuzzFeed reports:

Mosteller is the director of Oval Office operations and in February was the subject of a Washington Post profile that touted his ability to "basically read President Obama's mind." According to Mahshie's LinkedIn profile, he is a trip coordinator for Michelle Obama.

First of all, Michelle Obama's trip coordinator sounds like the second most fabulous job ever--only after Michelle Obama's stylist. Furthermore, Mosteller and Mashie just trumped nearly every other wedding this year--same-sex or otherwise.
