Watch Hunter Schafer’s Directorial Debut in Girl in Red’s New Video

What are two things sapphic teens love? Euphoria and girl in red!

Now, those two icons are coming together as Hunter Schafer, the actress best known for playing Jules Vaughn on HBO's popular drama series Euphoria, has made her directorial debut helming girl in red's (a.k.a. Marie Ulven's) latest music video for the song "hornylovesickmess."

The song, which is a lot more upbeat than many of girl in red's previous tracks, still contains her classic lyrics about longing and yearning. In the video, we see Marie traveling on a bus, both inside, and on top, as she sings "Sh*t's fun, but I'm going insane. Like it's been months since I've had sex, I'm just a horny little lovesick mess." Relatable.

The video is frantic and youthful. Clearly Schafer was able to stretch her artistic vision on this one. We are very excited to see Schafer's next work! After this and the Euphoria special episode she helped write and produce, she's becoming quite the creator to watch!

"'hornylovesickmess' is one of my [favorites] off the album," Ulven said in a statement. "Being able to make a video with Hunter for the album's anniversary was so cool. We had so many ideas after the first time we hung out and it was cool to be with another creative in that way. It was also fun to be on set with her and get her vibe as a director."

Schafer shared her excitement on Instagram, while also sharing some storyboards she drew for the video. "My first time directing! Thank u for trusting me: Marie & team, somesuch, and all of the cast and crew," she wrote.
