Petition to have Zendaya and Hunter Schafer star in a shot-for-shot remake of the Oscar-winning queer film!

Editor's note: this post contains some major spoilers from Euphoria season 2 episode 4.

It's official! We're already halfway through the second season of HBO's popular teen drama series Euphoria! And with more questions than ever!

Last night's newest episode ("You Who Cannot See, Think of Those Who Can") featured lots of intense, explosive revelations. Cal (Eric Dane) finally comes out to his family and gives them all a piece of his mind, Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) got sick (literally) at the thought of Maddy (Alexa Demie) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) getting back together after her keeping her and Nate's fling a secret for so long, and Jules (Hunter Schafer) finally learns the truth of Rue (Zendaya) not actually being sober after a blowup that leaves the fate of their relationship unknown.

While the episode ended with Rue and Jules not on good terms, it also began with a lovely montage of the two of them paying tribute to and reenacting some of pop culture history's best and most iconic lovers -- culminating in a perfect tribute to Ang Lee's iconic, critically-acclaimed queer drama film Brokeback Mountain!

Schafer played the Heath Ledger/Ennis Del Mar to Zendaya's Jake Gyllenhaal/Jack Twist, with the two recreating, nearly shot-for-shot, the scene in the film where the two sheepherders fumble around in their tent when they make love together for the first time, and it was exactly the kind of funny, cute, lighthearted moment we needed in a series that is otherwise filled to the brim with lots of drama and heaviness.

"I mean, I love Brokeback Mountain," Schafer told Entertainment Weekly about filming the montage. "I also like [that] it's also something I never would've thought I would be offered to emulate on film, so that was really cool. And that was fun for me and [Zendaya] just because we got to do our Southern accents and act like kind of old withered Southern dudes who were secretly gay for each other. It was just fun on set for that."

Consider this the start of our petition to have an entire Brokeback Mountain reboot project starring Zendaya and Hunter! We know Jake and Heath would be so proud!

New episodes of Euphoria stream Sunday nights at 6pm PT/9pm ET on HBO Max.
