Ariana Grande Makes 'Drag Race' History, Praises Symone

RuPaul and Ariana Grande

It's what they deserve.

There have been a ton of RuPaul's Drag Race lip syncs -- at least one for each episode in fact. And they are honestly one of the most anticipated moments of the episode: who will be in the bottom and what will they do while there. The lip syncs can be used to resurface songs in the public consciousness, like say "So Emotional" which bumped 650% in streams after that iconic Sasha Velour reveal.

Well, after this week, there's a new Drag Race lip sync queen in town.

According to Pop Crave, Ariana Grande now has the most Drag Race lip syncs in show history. As in, the one-time judge's songs have been played the most on the show for battles. This started in season seven with episode six, where Grande sat in as a judge. There Kandy Ho and Jaidynn Diore Fierce faced off to "Break Free." In season nine there was the infamous Valentina versus Nina Bonina Brown to "Greedy," and this was followed by match ups in season 10, 12, 13, All Stars four, and All Stars five to "Bang Bang," "Problem," "No Tears Left to Cry," "Into You," and "One Last Time," respectively.

This past week, Symone and Utica faced off to "No Tears Left to Cry," and gave one of the most earnest performances in show history as opposed to camping it up or throwing in flips and splits that someone who was actually singing couldn't achieve. Symone's performance was heartfelt and maintained the illusion that maybe she could be singing.

"This is the greatest honor of all time I am so happy and thankful RuPaul no understands what this means to me," Grande wrote to Instagram stories. In other posts, she screamed in praise for Symone during the lip sync.

The performer is a huge fan of the series. In addition to having appeared on it, she routinely follows and messages some of her favorite queens on Instagram. Currently, this includes Symone, Gottmik, Jaida Essence Hall, Bimini Bon Boulash, Gigi Goode, Monet X Change, Shangela, Tia Kofi, Nicky Doll, Kandy Muse, Jackie Cox, Dahlia Sin, and Jan. The queens have before said that Grande has messaged them and Muse even recently posted that the singer has been sending her voice notes.
