Icons working with icons!
Grammy winner Kim Petras and Queen of Rap Nicki Minaj have teamed up for one of Summer’s hottest singles “Alone,” and now they’ve released an equally hot music video for the song!
The “Alone” music video features several different looks for Kim and Nicki, including marching band looks, workout videos, nurses, and, probably our favorite look, dominatrixes! Kim even gives us some choreo! The dolls and the Barbz are a perfect combination, and here, we get to see the two come together in the best way possible!
“Alone” is an absolute bop, and the fact that Petras got a Nicki feature says big things about where her career is headed now that she’s officially and forever a Grammy winner. In the song, Nicki dubs Petras as Kim Petty, giving the princess of pop an iconic new nickname!
The song samples the classic '90s electronic track “Better Off Alone” by Alice DeeJay and is perfect for dancing in the club, singing along in your car, or bopping in your bedroom. Petras has said time and again that she makes music for the dolls and the gays, and this is a perfect gay danceclub track.
Petras won her first Grammy and scored her first number-one Billboard Hot 100 hit with the song “Unholy,” a duet with Sam Smith from Smith’s latest album Gloria. Since then, she’s released the promotional singles “If Jesus Was a Rockstar” and “Brrr” off her upcoming major label debut album.
“Alone” debuted at number 55 on the US Billboard Hot 100, but thanks to the music video, it could very likely become Kim’s next top twenty hit!
